At AWS re:Invent 2025, one theme stood out clearly: AWS is investing heavily in partners who enable customers to innovate faster, modernize more effectively, and scale globally with confidence. This focus aligns perfectly with Qumulo’s mission. More than a year into our partnership, Qumulo has embraced this vision and deepened its commitment to AWS as a key strategic partner in our cloud ecosystem. We have become a 100 percent AWS Marketplace ISV, and our Cloud Native Qumulo service is delivered as a Built on AWS SaaS offering that reflects the reliability, security, and operational excellence customers expect from modern cloud-native services.
Our partnership momentum is also driven by our deep technical integration with AWS. Qumulo was a recent launch partner for IAM Temporary Delegation, a new capability that enables partners like Qumulo to streamline onboarding in customer environments by providing short-lived, tightly scoped access for deployment, upgrades, or other setup tasks. Instead of requiring customers to manually create roles and permissions, this approach offers a simple click-to-approve experience with full visibility into what access is granted and for how long. The result is faster time to value, reduced operational overhead, and a secure, automated path from purchase to working software. Together, these advancements strengthen the operational fabric between Qumulo and AWS and reinforce our commitment to delivering a seamless experience for customers who rely on AWS for mission-critical workloads.
Our collaboration continues to accelerate, expand, and open new opportunities for customers who depend on unstructured data at massive scale. In many ways, we are only getting started.
A New Era of Cloud Native File Data on AWS
As enterprises modernize, file data remains one of the most challenging yet essential workloads to migrate to the cloud. Qumulo is purpose-built to address this challenge. Cloud Native Qumulo (CNQ), built using native AWS services such as Amazon EC2, AWS networking, and Amazon S3, delivers a fully dynamic cloud-native file platform that scales seamlessly with modern workloads. Organizations gain a high-performance file system that delivers multi-protocol access, elastic performance, and the ability to scale capacity and throughput independently based on demand.
CNQ is delivered as a fully data platform natively integrated with AWS, enabling customers to benefit from cloud elasticity, automated scaling, and high durability without rearchitecting applications or changing workflows. Whether running file workloads on premises, in hybrid deployments, or entirely in AWS, customers maintain a consistent operating model and performance profile.
Paired with AWS global infrastructure, CNQ enables organizations to rethink how they use file data. Customers can scale rapidly, eliminate operational bottlenecks, and unlock new levels of visibility and efficiency, no matter where their data lives or how quickly it grows.
Why Qumulo Is a Natural Fit Within the AWS Partner Ecosystem
1. Innovation That Meets Customers Where They Are
Qumulo’s architecture was built for the cloud from the beginning. This allows customers to bring existing applications and workflows to AWS without disruption and without the complexity of legacy file systems. Whether customers are modernizing HPC pipelines, media workflows, healthcare research, AI training data, or analytic workloads, Qumulo provides a consistent and simple file data experience across environments.
Very recently, Cloud Native Qumulo (CNQ) entered exciting new territory as part of an effort to explore the platform’s upper performance limits at scale. These large-scale hero benchmarks demonstrate what the CNQ architecture can achieve, validate key scaling pathways, and provide Qumulo Engineering with empirical proof points that strengthen CNQ’s position within the broader ecosystem of cloud-native file systems.
To make this possible, we engineered a deployment capable of sustaining hundreds of thousands of concurrent NFS client sessions, fanning out into over a quarter-million active TCP streams feeding the cluster. The entire workflow was driven by a distributed orchestration layer designed for large-scale parallel execution. At the core of the environment was a multi-AZ (multi-availability zone), CNQ cluster composed entirely of standard EC2 instances.
The test resulted in two significant milestones. A fully cloud-native distributed file system, spanning three AWS availability zones, delivered 1.6 TB/s of sustained aggregate sequential-read throughput. Then, a second high-concurrency workload drove the same CNQ instance to 20.7 million NFS protocol IOPS.
These two outcomes demonstrate the robustness, adaptability, and raw performance of CNQ’s distributed architecture under demanding real-world conditions. For customers, it signals Qumulo’s commitment to innovation and to empowering organizations to move even their largest, most demanding file-driven workloads to AWS, at virtually any scale.
2. Global Scale With Cloud Native Performance and Cloud Data Fabric
AWS provides one of the most extensive and battle-tested global infrastructures available. Qumulo extends that reach with Cloud Data Fabric, an architecture designed to enable file data operations across regions, availability zones, and on-premises customer locations worldwide.
Cloud Data Fabric unifies file data across sites, regions, and platforms, making it globally accessible from Qumulo clusters running in AWS, other clouds, at the edge, and in on-premises data centers. CDF enables:
- Low-latency read and write access to file data from anywhere
- Unified visibility and control across on-premises, edge, and cloud
- Intelligent prefetch of remote data before the workload actually needs it
- Strict data consistency that ensures all users and workflows only see the latest version of all data
- Real-time access to shared data across globally distributed teams
A core outcome is true global collaboration at scale. Production teams, researchers, analysts, designers, and AI pipelines can work together across continents, all operating from a shared data layer backed by AWS reliability and Qumulo performance. This eliminates geographic barriers that have traditionally limited data-intensive workflows.
AWS provides global reach, enabling organizations to optimize workflow placement. Qumulo provides a global file data fabric that enables organizations to optimize data placement. Together, they provide a foundation for worldwide operational agility.
3. Deep Collaboration To Build Industry Solutions
AWS highlighted the importance of partners who co-innovate, contribute architectural expertise, and deliver industry-specific solutions. Qumulo embraces this vision. We work closely with AWS field teams, solution architects, and service specialists to create validated designs, deployment patterns, and workload-specific solutions for public sector, media and entertainment, healthcare, energy, research, artificial intelligence, manufacturing, and more.
This collaborative approach gives customers clarity, confidence, and a faster time to value.
The Opportunity Ahead
Cloud adoption is accelerating worldwide, particularly for unstructured data and performance-intensive applications. Customers need partners who can simplify and de-risk workload migration while maintaining or improving performance and enabling global operations. Qumulo and AWS are ideally positioned to meet this demand.
Together, we enable customers to:
- Migrate petabytes of data efficiently
- Run high-performance file workloads in AWS
- Adopt hybrid-cloud operations without refactoring existing applications
- Reduce operational complexity
- Unlock global collaboration for distributed teams
- Build resilient, scalable environments for next-generation workloads
These capabilities will become increasingly essential as data volumes grow and organizations pursue AI, real-time analytics, and distributed production at scale.
We Are Only Getting Started
Qumulo’s partnership with AWS is expanding rapidly. Deeper service integration, new global capabilities, and enhanced joint solutions are already underway. As AWS continues to strengthen its partner ecosystem, Qumulo is committed to leading the way in cloud native file data innovation.
The momentum is real, the opportunity is significant, and the outlook is exciting. The Qumulo and AWS partnership is just beginning, and there is much more ahead.
