Qumulo Selected as Finalist for 2014 Red Herring Top 100

Qumulo, a stealth enterprise data storage company, today announced it has been selected as a finalist for Red Herring’s Top 100 North America award, a prestigious list honoring the year’s most promising private technology ventures from North America. Finalists were chosen from a pool of hundreds of candidates based on technological innovation, management strength, market size, investor record, customer acquisition and financial health.

“We founded Qumulo with the mission of becoming the company that the world trusts to store, manage, and curate its data, forever,” said Peter Godman, CEO of Qumulo. “Over the last year, we’ve focused on building a stellar engineering team with deep experience addressing the most technically challenging customer pain points in large-scale data storage, and an executive team with a proven track record in bringing disruptive new technologies to market. 2014 will hold many exciting milestones for Qumulo as we build towards our market launch.”

In November 2012, Qumulo announced it raised $24.5 million in Series A financing led by Highland Capital Partners, with participation from Madrona Venture Group and Valhalla Partners. The company has grown to more than 50 employees and is hiring for additional roles across product development and management.

“The finalists list confirms the excellent choices made by entrepreneurs and VCs and the startups’ solid roots in corporate America, embracing their innovations. By all metrics, it emphasizes the United States’ entrepreneurial excellence,” said Alex Vieux, publisher and CEO of Red Herring.

Hundreds of companies in the fields of security, Web 2.0, software, hardware, life sciences, cloud, mobile and others completed their submissions to qualify for the award. Peter Godman, co-founder and CEO of Qumulo, will present at the Red Herring North America Forum in Monterey, Calif., on Thursday, May 15. The Top 100 winners will be announced at a special awards ceremony the evening of May 16.
