Heading to HPE Discover? Q&A with Qumulo’s Gregg Machon

Authored by:

Next week the Qumulo team will be hitting the road and heading to Las Vegas for Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) Discover 2019. This is HPE’s largest customer and partner event of the year, and I couldn’t be more excited to hit the show floor.

Since day one, Qumulo has adopted a partner-first approach and strategic partners like HPE have been instrumental in our success and expansion. We’ve been an HPE Strategic Technology Partner since 2018.

In today’s world, data has emerged as the new currency, and Qumulo’s mission is to help enterprises unleash the power of their file-based data. We believe this data is the engine of today’s innovation. Businesses everywhere are struggling with the immense scale of the data they’re creating, curating, analyzing or simply being asked to manage. From terabytes to petabytes, this challenge grows each day and the burden of not being able to derive Intelligence from that data further compounds the problem.

It’s critical that users be able to effectively store, manage, and understand their data in order to make strategic, actionable decisions from it. This is why it’s so important for Qumulo to attend events like HPE Discover – to showcase the innovative solutions that we are bringing to market in partnership through valued organizations like HPE.

So what exactly is HPE Discover?

HPE Discover one of the best educational and networking events that I’m aware of in the technology industry. There are hundreds of sessions being presented by HPE partners and tech experts, along with demos and roundtables covering topics ranging from edge-to-cloud data, security, the Intelligent Edge, the progress and future of artificial intelligence and other innovative subjects.

What can attendees expect from Qumulo at HPE Discover?

We’ve got some really exciting demonstrations planned for the event that will showcase Qumulo and HPE’s latest solutions.

Qumulo’s hybrid cloud file storage software runs on HPE Apollo servers, which are built for big data analytics and software-defined storage. Together we deliver enterprise-grade performance, scale and manageability, with granular, real-time analytics, and the best customer success experience as derived from Gartner Peer Insights as well as our industry-leading Net Promoter Score of 88.

The first demo will feature Qumulo Cloud Q, which automates data synchronization in the cloud for failover, transformation, and cloud disaster recovery. Essentially, Cloud Q enables users to automatically have their data where they need it, when they need it.

  • Attendees will be able to see how they can automatically replicate their data from an on-premises Qumulo cluster to a Qumulo instance running in the cloud.
  • For example, should a primary on-premises storage system experience a catastrophic failure, you can redirect users and applications to the cloud instance where they will have access to all of their data immediately.

You can also learn more about Qumulo’s high performance storage solution for the expanding video surveillance market. This demo is interesting because video surveillance in particular – which encompasses Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), body cameras, and aerial surveillance – brings with it a unique set of storage challenges.

  • In this market, storage demands are almost always growing faster than budgets. Budgets can’t accommodate the cost of the performance and capacity needed, along with the desired level of protection.
  • Incremental infrastructure growth for traditional systems involve significant internal resources and often cause disruption.
  • Traditional storage infrastructures aren’t meeting modern customer needs. This is why Qumulo delivers!
