Enterprises around the world look to Gartner for unbiased advice to inform their buying decisions. Today, Gartner published its 2019 Magic Quadrant for Distributed File Systems and Object Storage. In this report, Qumulo was named as a Leader for the second year in a row based on our ability to execute and our completeness of vision. We were positioned highest for our completeness of vision, which we view as incredible validation for our understanding of our customer’s infrastructure needs and our fanatical focus on customer success.
File data is the engine of innovation that powers mission-critical applications at the center of our customers’ businesses. Qumulo’s mission is to unleash the power of our customers’ file data.
To deliver on this mission, we are building the world’s best hybrid cloud file storage product. Customers choose Qumulo because we provide real-time visibility, scale and control of their data across the public cloud and on-prem. We uniquely provide a solution delivering: 1) enterprise-class capabilities to serve mission-critical applications, 2) real time-visibility and control, 3) the ability to “scale-across” on-prem to the public cloud, 4) automating common tasks and programmatically managing infrastructure through an advanced API, and 5) a delightful experience that’s unmatched in the industry.
Qumulo brings our cloud-native distributed file system capabilities to users through three different models:
- Our integrated systems business provides customers with a “turnkey” appliance solution for their on-prem environments. Qumulo’s branded hardware consists of 100% industry standard, off-the-shelf components, with configurations optimized for our customers’ target use-cases. Through the use of industry-standard components and a software-defined architecture, Qumulo leads the file storage industry with the first all-NVMe file storage as a portfolio option supplementing our hybrid storage and active archive offerings.
- Our OEM business combines Qumulo software with our OEM partners’ hardware, services, other product lines, and overall experience. Customers truly value a “software-defined” experience. We have seen incredible global success with our first major OEM partner, HPE.
- Our Cloud business enables customers to consume Qumulo software-as-a-service, deployed on public cloud IaaS. Qumulo’s software runs on AWS and GCP today and will ultimately run on Azure and potentially other globally relevant public clouds in the future. Our cloud business enables customers to run legacy file-based data applications in the cloud without refactoring them to write to new interface protocols such as S3.
We are so fortunate to work with a team of great people that we are proud to know at Qumulo and are honored by the support of our users.
